Southend Tourism Partnership is a joint public/private not-for-profit partnership that was formed in 2016, with the aspiration of increasing the value of tourism to the local economy.
Tourism is one of several key sector in the city and has a special place in shaping Southend's past. The core aim of Southend Tourism Partnership is to continue to increase the value from the visitor economy by:
providing the foundation for increased collective decision making around tourism issues.
Improving links across promotions, events and communication.
Sharing responsibility for delivery with the business community.
"Our vision is for Southend to become England's first choice coastal destination for visitors."
Southend Tourism Partnership has already pooled great resources, and is showing that working together delivers more. There is still much more for us to do as competition increases and the need to ensure that our message breaks through the noise of the multi-media landscape of destination marketing.
Our collaborative Destination Management Plan Destination Southend, outlines our joint vision and goals for the future. Success will require willing participation by stakeholders who value the past but look to the future needs of our visitors and how our economy can be stronger with coordinated tourism activity at its heart.
We will continue to work in partnership with the two Coastal Community teams, Shoeburyness and Leigh-on-Sea, to ensure a healthy and prosperous future for all our residents, businesses and visitors.
